Meeting Title: May Chapter Meeting Location: Arrowhead Country Club Clubhouse 50 Ocala Dr, Montgomery, AL 36117 Meal: Buffet Registration: $25 Topic: "Leadership: It's a Matter of Style" Abstract: We are all leaders on some level. By being aware of the various leadership styles, we can lead more effectively and overcome weaknesses that may be hindering our effectiveness. We may even be able to decrease our stress and increase our chances of success in our personal and professional lives. Group Takeaways: Become familiar with various styles of leadership Identify personal leadership style(s) Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the leadership styles Understand areas of leadership weaknesses and ways to overcome them Speaker: Monette Mottenon, Vice President of Education for the Montgomery Toastmasters Club, #1334. BIO: Monette "Mo" Mottenon has been encouraging families for over 20 years. Earning her Bachelor of Art in Life Sciences and Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana State University, she realized she wanted to impact families. Her greatest joys as a Parent Involvement Facilitator and counselor were reuniting families for individuals within group homes, foster care, and adoptive homes. Mottenton earned her teaching certification from Marian University in Indianapolis and her Instructional Leadership certification from Troy University in Alabama. She has had the privilege of molding elementary, middle, and high school scholars to pursue the dreams in their hearts. Monette and her husband John successfully created PGF Education LLC along with the subsidary PGF Publications, which is designed to impact families in a global manner. Born out of living with chronic illnesses, they wrote the My Health Information Planner, a tool created to help them, and others, maintain accurate records of their health, while maintiaing focus upon their quality of life as well. She appreciates creating, taking an idea from infancy to its manifestation. She also delights in reading, traveling, dancing, and writing.
